Matamata Panelworks is looking for a experienced Automotive Painter to join our team. This role is focused primarily on our collision repair side, with some involvement in other paint work across our workshop when required. We are seeking a skilled professional who takes pride in their craft and consistently delivers exceptional results.
About the Role
- Collision repair paint work (primary focus)
- Occasional involvement in other paint work across the workshop
- Working on quality builds where finish and attention to detail matter
- Full-time, permanent position
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm, with flexibility when required.

This is not a junior role — you must be currently operating at a senior level with proven, real-world experience in automotive paint work.
Essential Skills, Requirements & Experience
- Must be in New Zealand already and legally able to work
- Proven experience in collision repair paint work
- Restoration or custom paint experience is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
- Experience across a range of paint systems and finishes
- Willingness to support other paint projects when required
